I interviewed several postmasters of markets of all size and asked them their opinion of political mail.  All of them had the similar remarks:

Target Direct Mailing Services introduces Voters-Direct to assist candidates in getting marketing materials in the hands of registered voters and minimize the waste.  How do we do it?

We have taken the public record voter registration files you are accustom to using.  However, we’ve screened the file and removed unmailable addresses.  We’ve run the file against the US Postal Service’s National Change of Address database.  We update Rural Route addresses to 911 compatible delivery addresses through the Locatable Address Correction Service.  We’ve screened the file for deceased individuals.  And we remove the duplicate records before we mail.

At Target Direct Mailing Services, we do not charge anything for political candidates to use this lean, efficient voter registration file when they use us for as their mailing services provider.  That’s right, NO CHARGE.

We can turnkey your entire project including design work, printing, and mailing.

Frequently Asked Questions:

 Is the list available on pressure-sensitive labels?
            No.      Most people ask because they have volunteers who can label postcards at no labor cost.  In just about all of these cases, you will save more money using our services as we can presort your mail and save you more in postage than you’ll save on our service cost.  Plus, labels are an unnecessary resource as we can directly inkjet onto your mailpieces.

 Can we supply our own print and use Target Direct for the mailing list and mailing services only?
            Yes, absolutely. 

Do you take credit cards.
            Yes.  Target Direct Mailing Services accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover.  Please note that a 2.5% convenience fee will be applicable.

 Can I pay with terms?  Can I pay after the election?
            No.  All fees for political mail are due up front prior to mail.

How much lead-time do you need?
            On average, 2-4 business days from receipt of materials.

Can I get counts?  Is there any obligation for getting counts?
            Email counts@targetdm.com for no-obligation counts.

Are you associated with one party?
            Target Direct Mailing Services is a politically-neutral zone.  We like meeting the candidates, we like listening to the candidates, but we don’t play favorites to any major or minor party.   Even if we disagree with your opinions, we won’t hold up your mail or hassle you in any way.  Besides, as diverse as we are here, I’m sure someone here at Target Direct Mailing Services agrees with you.
